The driver will remain with the bus during the field trip and the bus can be parked in the upper lot of the Jack Turner Softball Stadium located at 2330 South Milledge Avenue, Athens, GA 30605. Field trip reservations must be made prior to your visit. This opportunity is intended to afford all children, chaperones. (See Attachment 7 for checklist.) Field trip packets must contain the following items: 1. Reservations must be made a minimum of ten business days before your scheduled field trip. Field Trip Packet: The sponsoring teacher/supervisor is charged with preparing the packet for submission to the principal. If your group arrives in a bus, you can plan to drop off students near the entrance on Hull Street. Chaperones are expected to complete all volunteer requirements and pay field trip costs. Go to the Special Collections Building’s front desk and we will validate your parking with your tag number. When your groups arrive, bypass the pay machine inside the deck. Passenger vans or multiple cars are welcome to park in the Hull Street Parking Deck. There are dining options for groups on campus and downtown. In the event of inclement weather, we can host your group for lunch in an available space in our building. If your group chooses to bring lunches, our large front lawn accommodates large groups. loading and unloading areas for bus-borne pupils. Ensure that ALL travelers age 18 and over have a photo ID. Located just offLumpkin Street near historic North Campus, our location allows the opportunity for your group to easily add other on-campus activities to your day. A list of field trips considered appropriate for each grade level or subject area will be prepared. Assign two students to assist the bus driver in loading luggage. Each group must have a minimum of one chaperone or teacher per every 10 students present at all times. Our exhibit space accommodates a group of 60 students and chaperones/teachers at a time this larger group should arrive pre-divided into two smaller groups of 30 students each. Your visit includes (1) a guided tour of the galleries, and (2) a game/craft activity, and lasts 90 minutes.
